If you don’t know me, let me introduce myself!
Hi! I’m Amy Mewborn. I help women launch and scale businesses. But for over 15 years, I worked as an employee in finance. I grew up in a family of employees. They had unions, and pensions, and pretty darn steady paychecks. And from the time I can remember, I was always told, “You need to get good grades to get into a good college, so you can get a good job!”
So guess what, I did JUST that! I went to school. I got into a good private college. I got good grades. I interned with American Express while I was in college. I started full time with American Express on my 21st birthday. I worked my way up to a small boutique finance firm in La Jolla, CA with the coolest clients ever – mostly CEO’s, CFO’s, and founders of San Diego businesses!
But what happens when you wake up and one day your dream job doesn’t excite you any more? What happens when you look around and realize that even though you’re making a good wage, that you don’t control your life, and you certainly don’t control your destiny?
You see, most of us have been told the same exact lie, “Go to a good college and get a good job.” But no one tells you that job may not be secure. It may not have any room for growth. It may not allow you to grow and improve your skills. And let’s not even talk about the huge student loan debt that you’ll be paying off for years to come!
I’m not saying that education isn’t important. But today, at age 42, I talk to women all day every day that did what they were told to do. They got the safe, secure job; and today they wake up and realize they’re working 12 hour days and no one even notices!
So today I’m going to ask you, are you still in a job that you don’t love? Are you feeling pulled to do something else? Are you afraid to leave that “secure paycheck?” I get it! In 2010, I left my six-figure finance career to open fitness studios. Then four years later, I built a full consulting business. Then three years after that, I sold the fitness business. Today, I consult in women’s businesses full time – and I LOVE it! There is nothing more rewarding than helping women build financial independence and build something that they LOVE and is THEIRS!
So tell me, what are you REALLY feeling pulled to do? What have you been thinking about, but worried that it just might not work out?
What if it does? Drop me an email. Tell me what you really are feeling pulled to do and what the next step is in making that happen! I can’t wait to hear from you!
